If we tour in September to October we will be able to see the Jacaranda trees in bloom which is why the city is known as the Jacaranda City. Church Street is the longest straight street in the world.
I’ll show you the old Agricultural Show grounds, Heroes’ Acre Cemetery, The Paul Kruger Reformed Church and Paul Kruger’s House.
A visit to the house in which one of the most famous presidents lived from 1883 to 1900 is a worthwhile experience. The museum contains many relics of Paul Kruger and the way of life at the turn of the last century. Behind the house the President’s State coach and private railway coach are on display, and in front are two marble lion statues donated to the president by the famous Pretoria business man Sammy Marks.
