With The Nightjar Tour we visit a nearby nature reserve to search for nightjars and other owls and when weather permits, have a quick observation of the night sky of stars , planets and other objects visible through birding binoculars. Birding will be done from the vehicle and on foot.
The Nightjar Tour will take approximately three to four hours and you can expect to see or hear some of the following species: African Nightjar, Rufous-cheeked Nightjar (summer), Southern White-faced Scops Owl, Spotted Thick-knee and other nocturnal birds.
Other wild animals that may be seen are Kudu, Impala, Waterbuck, Zebra, Warthog, Jackal and Bushbabies.
Guests must bring warm clothing as the evenings may be cold.
