Guests will be met at the starting point of the route or guests may be transported with our vehicle to the starting point depending on the destination.
We will visit the Smuts House Museum which as the official residence of the Prime Minister General Jan Smuts, where most of his possessions are still on display, including his official car. We will look at the trees he planted and walk up the hill to the cenotaph where his ashes are scattered.
On the farm Doornkloof is the home of General Smuts, now a museum. It was an officer’s club in India which he purchased and had erected on the present site, on a base of sandstone blocks. Many of his personal items, books and botanical samples remain on display, as well as his official car.
